Trails for Kids!
Most trails are short, not too technical, and have some type of water feature. 


North Park Trails 
  • Latodami Nature Center: covers approximately 250 acres and includes field, forest, pond, wetland and stream habitats with a series of nature trails.
  • Braille Trail:  less than ½ mile loop on a trail that was originally designed for use by the visually impaired.                   
  • Crouse Run Nature Reserve:  rocks, small bridges, water crossings and plenty of wildlife, this beautiful trail connects to the Rachel Carson Trail and is easily accessed from Wildwood Road   ​​           
Outside of North Park 
  • The Harmony Trail: just under one mile, a stream runs along side the trail. Located in Wexford. (Stroller-friendly)
  • Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve:  five miles of trails and 134 acres of sanctuary at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve.  There are 9 separate and intersecting trails ranging from .1 to .91 miles. You can also find a large pond, natural playground and plenty of wildlife. There is a downloadable trail map on their website.
  • Emmerling Park: The Rachel Carson Trail goes through Emmerling Park right next to a creek that’s perfect for young explorers. It’s a fun area for skipping rocks and discovering wildlife.
  • Fall Run Park:  a 1.4-mile out-and-back trail takes you on cool bridges, water crossings and next to a 30 foot waterfall!
  • Fern Hollow Nature Center:  the Fern Hollow Native Tree walk will take you by 32 different types of trees
  • Succop Nature Park: includes friendly walking trails that feature 2 ponds and lots of birds and other animals.
  • Sunken Garden Trail at Moraine:  offers views of the lake shoreline and travels through a variety of habitats. Hikes can range from 1.9 or 2.4 or 3.6 miles.
